It’s Been a Long Time

The heartbroken girl picks up a knife and sets out on a journey to confront her ex-boyfriend with the intention of harming him. Along the way, her anger grows stronger, triggered by memories that flood back at every turn: boarding a bus reminds her of their shared moments on public transportation, while buying water at the supermarket brings back memories of his habit of returning items to the same shelf. What was once happiness has now turned into unbearable pain. By the time she reminisces about the heart-wrenching moment of their breakup, she has already numbed herself with alcohol and reached his location.

The intoxicated girl, gripping the knife tightly, rushes towards his back without hesitation. Yet, as he turns around and she sees his face, the tightly held knife slips from her grasp and falls to the ground. Amidst a myriad of complex emotions, all she can manage to say to him is, “Long time no see.”
