Little Planet: A Tale of Frogs

Little Planet – A Tale of Frogs – is an insight into the world of frogs found in The Western Ghats of Southern India. Though commonly found across the Ghats, frogs are one such species of wildlife that are least concerned while the big ones get all the necessary attention.

Mostly secretive, most of their activity or behaviour is hardly known by the science. They get active with the Monsoon and get back to aestivation once Monsoon recede.

Frogs, usually ignored or overlooked upon, are one of the very important species of this ecosystem and their conservation has become crucial today.

This film is an effort to throw light on these enigmatic beings of our neighbourhood and their mostly unseen behaviour.

Eight years of shooting in the jungles of The Western Ghats in the heavy Monsoons, we have captured some of the events that has never been captured before revealing the secret lives of these frogs. While evolution has given them the power and skills to thrive, we have tried to capture them to make it easy to understand them and try to save them and co-exist.
