Independent Shorts Awards is thrilled to announce that Tate Donovan, the lead actor of the short film Steady, will join the Spotlight Q&A Panel at the 7th Annual Independent Shorts Awards on September 6, 2025, at Regal LA Live, Los Angeles.
Steady screens in Program 11: Human Stories, Cinema #10, from 2:20 PM to 4:30 PM. Following the screening, Tate will join Program 12: Spotlight Q&A, alongside his co-star Michael Paré, also at Cinema #10, from 4:45 PM to 6:00 PM.


About Tate Donovan

With a career spanning over four decades, Tate Donovan has established himself as a versatile actor, voice artist, and director. He has appeared in over 45 films, including acclaimed projects such as Argo, which earned a SAG Award, Manchester by the Sea, Rocketman, The Holdovers, Worth, The Upside, Good Night and Good Luck, Memphis Belle, Love Potion #9, and provided the title voice in Disney’s animated classic Hercules. He is also set to appear in the upcoming film Crime 101.
On television, Donovan has starred in major series including The O.C., Damages, 24, Man in the High Castle, and made memorable guest appearances in shows such as Friends.
In addition to his acting, Donovan is an accomplished director. He won a Primetime Emmy Award for directing the ESPN 30 for 30 Documentary Short Arthur and Johnnie, about tennis legend Arthur Ashe. He has also directed episodes of critically acclaimed series including Madam Secretary, Bloodline, Damages, Glee, Hawaii Five-0, Weeds, and The O.C.
Attendees at the 7th Annual Independent Shorts Awards will have the opportunity to hear Tate Donovan share his insights on acting, storytelling, and the creative process behind Steady, a rare glimpse into the craft of one of Hollywood’s most accomplished actors.
